About Snake Safety Zambia
Snake Safety Zambia is a company founded by Master herpetologist and Zambian snake and snakebite expert Marcel van Driel. In 2021 he published Snakes and First Aid in Snakebite in Zambia. In 2023, he drafted the National Guidelines in the Prevention and Management of Snakebite, which was launched in November 2024 by the Zambian Ministry of Health. Since 2022 he advises members of the public, as well as health professionals in snakebite cases as he works with the Ministry of Health and other stakeholders in the improvement of snakebite management in Zambia.
